Tampa woman struck, killed by tanker truck on I-75 after her car gets stuck in ditch

MANATEE -- A 36-year-old Tampa woman walking along Interstate 75 after she spun out her car and got stuck in a ditch was struck and killed by a truck early Thursday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened about 3:04 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 just north of University Parkway, according to a news release.

Rebecca J. Brown apparently had gotten out of her car after she had spun out and gotten stuck in a ditch near where she was standing when she was truck by a tanker truck, according to a report.
