Woman receives dog bite during arrest

MANATEE - A 36-year-old woman wanted on an arrest warrant received a dog bite from a sheriff's department K-9 when she was discovered hiding in bushes.

The department had received information that Pamela Payton was at a residence and had a felony arrest warrant. Payton fled prior to the deputies' arrival. While searching with a K-9, Payton was found hiding in bushes on the property of a Hyundai dealership in the 2600 block of First Street East.

Payton received a dog bite to the chest and was arrested and charged with resisting/obstruction of an officer without violence.
