Bradenton police look for accomplice in bank robbery

BRADENTON -- The Bradenton Police Department is looking for a man investigators believe was an accomplice to a bank robbery last week.

About 5:15 p.m. May 18, a man entered Chase Bank, 4915 Manatee Ave. E., and asked for $10 in quarters. He only received $9 in quarters because that was the only cash he had, and he left the bank, police said.

About an hour later, a man wearing a surgical mask and armed with a syringe threatened employees and demanded money from a teller.

Police on Friday released security camera footage of the first man, describing him as an accomplice to the robbery. He was wearing a white tank top, grey sweatpants and sandals with white socks.

The suspect with the syringe was wearing a white, long-sleeve button-down shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, black sunglasses and a white surgical mask.
