Sarasota man charged with exposing himself on Siesta Key Beach

SARASOTA -- A 38-year-old man previously convicted for exposing himself to children has been charged with exposing himself to beachgoers on Siesta Key Beach, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses said Jason Beles was sitting in a chair near Beach Access #1 on North Shell Road on Tuesday "and was committing lewd acts while staring directly at children who were just 6 and 12 years old," a news release states.

"Beles also entered the water and stood where it was only up to his thighs and removed his shorts," the release states.

When deputies arrives, Beles initially refused to give his correct name and date of birth. He then scuffled with deputies, who had to use a Taser to subdue him, according to the sheriff's office.

Beles is charged with lewd & lascivious conduct, resisting arrest with violence, giving a false ID to law enforcement and violation of probation. He was being held without bond at the Sarasota County jail.

Beles was convicted in April 2010 of lewd & lascivious conduct for exposing himself to young children at the mall and sentenced to four years of supervised release, according to the sheriff's office.
