2 charged with breaking into Bradenton house, beating up resident

MANATEE -- Two men were charged with burglary and battery after they broke into a Bradenton residence and beat up a person inside, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, the suspects, Richard Matthews, 30, and Adam Marshall, 27, barged into a house in the 4800 block of 21st Street West and beat up the 20-year-old victim, who suffered minor injuries, according to a news release.

Matthews and Marshall fled the scene but were arrested a short time after, the sheriff's office said.

Marshall and Matthews were being held without bond at the Manatee County jail, on charges of burglary with assault/battery.
