MANATEE -- The suspect in an April 9 shooting that left a man seriously injured has been returned from a Georgia jail to Manatee County.

About 6:15 a.m. Monday, Theron Mitchell, 35, was booked into the Manatee County jail, where he is facing charges of attempted murder, home invasion and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. His bonds totaled $225,000.

Investigators say Mitchell last month went to the Champions Walk Apartments in Bradenton and shot a 26-year-old man. The apartments are located in the 4200 block of 53rd Avenue West.

Mitchell was arrested late last month in Georgia.
