Florida road rage encounter turns into mob scene, with bats, shovels and guns

A road-rage encounter in Central Florida’s Volusia County spilled over to a home — with occupants of a vehicle returning with a mob who wielded baseball bats, shovels and a gun.

The problems started with a 17-year-old girl driving home and encountering a slow-moving vehicle, according to a report on newsjournal-online.com. The teen told police she backed off from the driver who was applying the brakes, but that the occupants started yelling at her.

When she pulled up to her Deltona home, the other car also pulled up, and the trouble began.

At least 17 people were involved in the scuffle. Six cars were damaged and shots fired into the home. A 21-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
