Pregnant store clerk roughed up by Miami robbers as 6-year-old daughter watches

MIAMI -- All 6-year-old Trina Khondaker could do was wave her hands and plead as her pregnant mom was beaten up by an armed robber.

On Monday, Deangelo Joyce, 16, along with two other men who are at large, entered Quicke Food Mart in Northeast Miami and demanded cash from store clerk Murshiva Khondaker.

Joyce, who approached four-months’ pregnant Khondaker, forced her to the ground. Khondaker was punched, kicked and pistol-whipped across the head, surveillance video shows. All while her young daughter watched.

Video shows the little girl screaming and waving her arms in the air.

“I told the man to stop hitting my mom,” she said. “He kept hitting my mom.”

As Khondaker was being beaten, the two other men struggled to open the cash register. When it opened, one took $50 while the other held the front door open to the store, 7018 NE Second Ave.

They left, but Joyce was arrested shortly after their escape.

Khondaker suffered injuries to her arms legs and upper body. She said when the three men first entered the store, she thought they looked suspicious.

She was right.

As she was making some food for herself, Joyce knocked her to the ground.

The Miami Police Department asking for help in looking for the two other males who were involved in the assault. Police say they are possibly in their late teens or early 20s.
