Prescription pills may have claimed Bradenton woman's life

MANATEE — Authorities suspect a woman found deceased in her bed at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday died of an overdose of prescription drugs.

The woman was discovered by her roommate slumped over her bed in a residence in the 700 block of 64th Avenue Drive West, according to a sheriff’s office report.

EMS confirmed the death shortly after they arrived on scene, the report states.

The deceased woman’s purse contained several nearly empty prescription bottles that had recently been filled, according to the report.
