Manatee sheriff: 2 burglars caught in the act

MANATEE -- Two burglars were arrested by deputies who caught them in the act early Tuesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 2:45 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a duplex in the 100 block of 49th Avenue West, Bradenton, and arrested Joseph Williams, 55, and Cleo Livingston, 56, both of Sarasota, according to a news release.

About $2,000 in stolen property was found in the bed of a pickup truck, and returned to the victims.

Williams was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and violating a previous probation. He was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.

Livingston was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He was being held on bonds totaling $22,240.
