Manatee business robbed at gunpoint

MANATEE -- Two males, armed with semi-automatic handguns, entered the Triple Diamond Club, 6500 block of 14th Street West, shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, and ordered the clerk to open the cash drawers, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The robbers locked the front door behind them. Once inside one of the robbers ordered the clerk to open the cash drawers, with a gun to her head, and took the cash. Two other persons in the business were ordered to the floor, a sheriff's report said.

After taking the money the gunmen hurried the clerk and the two witnesses into the bathroom. The suspects fled the business through the front door.

The clerk said the suspects were wearing gloves and large hooded sweatshirts with black mask pulled over their faces.
