Newspaper delivery worker robbed in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A newspaper delivery worker was robbed while she pulled into a Bradenton driveway on Tuesday, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

At 5:50 a.m., the victim had just pulled into the driveway of Bishop Animal shelter, 5700 block of 21st Avenue West, to get more newspapers from the rear of her car. When she returned to the front of the car, a man “put his fist to the back of her neck and said don’t move,” a media release said.

The suspect reached into the car and stole the woman’s purse and drove off in a four-door silver car, the release said. The woman was not injured.
