Deputies arrest suspect after woman walks in on Bradenton burglary

MANATEE -- Deputies were able to arrest a suspect who they say was burglarizing a 77-year-old woman's Bradenton house when she walked in on him, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 3:11 p.m. Friday, the woman entered her residence in the 7600 block of Fourth Avenue West and noticed items were out of place. She then saw a man carrying some of her things out the back door, according to a news release.

Deputies had increased patrols in the area because of recent burglaries, so they were able to quickly respond.

Detectives noticed Dominic Farrer in the parking lot of the Albertsons store at the corner of Manatee Avenue West and 75th Street West and noticed he matched the suspect description and that he was "sweating excessively," the report states.

They detained him, and deputies brought the victim to scene. She identified Farrer as the burglar.

Deputies recovered about $4,000 in stolen items that Farrer had been carrying.

Farrer was charged with burglary of an occupied building, and was being held on a $10,000 bond at the Manatee County jail.
