Man charged with attacking 3 Manatee deputies after arrest in Palmetto

MANATEE -- A 27-year-old man arrested for violating a domestic violence injunction was taken to jail but not before he was bitten by a police dog and attacked three deputies, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 9 p.m. Thursday, Christopher Wilson broke into a house in the 2500 block of Second Avenue West, violating the injunction, according to a news release. When he refused to cooperate or surrender to responding deputies, he was bitten and apprehended by a police dog.

Wilson was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital, where he tried to spit on a deputy, tried to bite another deputy and a kicked a third deputy, according to the report. He was treated and taken to jail.

No deputies were injured.

Wilson was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail. He faces charges of violating a domestic violence injunction, burglary, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer.
