Man robbed in Walgreens parking lot in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A Manatee man was robbed at knife-point while walking in a Walgreens parking lot Wednesday morning, the sheriff’s office reports.

The victim was walking in the Walgreens parking lot at 6100 14th St. W. at about 5:30 a.m. when he was approached by an unknown man, a media release said.

The suspect held a knife to the victim’s back and demanded money, the release said. The victim surrendered his property to the suspect.

After the robbery, the suspect punched the victim in the side, causing him to fall to the ground, the release said; he did not suffer any severe injuries.

The victim said he didn’t call 911 at the time of the incident because he didn’t have a cell phone, but later reported the crime at the sheriff’s office.
