MANATEE — A home invasion was reported Tuesday at a Bradenton apartment complex, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The break-in happened about 11:40 a.m. at the Braden Lakes Apartment, in the 2700 block of 50th Avenue West, according to a news release.
A 25-year-old resident of the complex told Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies that there was a knock on his apartment door and when an acquaintance opened it, three suspects stormed in.
One of the suspects pointed a rifle at the victim and the others took him to the ground, a sheriff’s report states.
Then, while one suspect kept the rifle pointed at the victim, the other two searched the kitchen and living room.
After searching the apartment, the three perpetrators then backed out of the apartment, pointing the rifle as they left, the report states.
The victim, who had told his guest not to open the door when the knock took place, told deputies that nothing was taken.
The victim told deputies that he jumped in his truck and followed the suspects as they fled the complex. He said he lost sight of them at 26th Street West and 53rd Avenue West and returned home to call 911, the report states.
The victim was not injured, the report states.
