MANATEE -- Two masked gunmen early Monday forced their way into a Bradenton apartment, tied up three people -- including a 10-year-old child -- and got away with cash and one of the victim's Cadillac, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
As a man and woman, 25 and 26, respectively, walked up to the front door of their residence at the Mira Lagos apartments, 458 34th Ave. Drive E., about 4 a.m., the suspects approached and forced them inside, according to a news release.
"The suspects acted like they were the police," the report states.
Once inside, the suspects tied up the couple, as well as a 10-year-old child. A 4-year-old girl was left alone because she was asleep, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspects hit the man about the head with their guns and fists. They didn't demand anything, but the did search for money, finding cash and car keys.
The suspects fled in the woman's Dodge Charger. But when they found the man's Cadillac, they left the Charger and took the second vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene for his injuries.
