BRADENTON -- A 20-year-old man was caught burglarizing cars early this morning after a witness called 911, deputies reported.
Christopher Rose was charged with burglarizing three cars and with the possession of burglary tools, according to a sheriff's report. A woman had spotted him at 6:35 a.m., suspected he was stealing from her neighbor's car, and called police.
She watched the suspect look into a few other cars as he walked down the road. When deputies arrived in the 3700 and 3800 blocks of Royal Palm Drive, she described Rose to responding deputies, who detained him nearby.
The caller discovered her unlocked car had also been entered, and the dome light turned on. Nothing appeared missing from her car. Her husband had change taken from his unlocked car, and their neighbor's car had been burglarized with $40 cash, miscellaneous change, a lottery ticket and camera stolen from within.
The camera was found on the ground near Rose, and he was arrested, deputies said. The other property was found in Rose's pockets, along with a flashlight and gloves. Rose's car was located in the area, and he agreed to let deputies search it. Numerous pawn receipts were found inside, along with a pile of change on the passenger seat. The car was impounded, the report stated.
