MANATEE -- The suspect in a May 9 burglary in Panther Ridge in far East Manatee and a May 18 burglary in Parrish may have committed several other burglaries in Manatee and Sarasota counties, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
So far, Armstrong has been charged in Parrish break-in, which netted more than $35,000 in stolen property, and charges in connection with the Panther Ridge burglary are forthcoming, according to a news release.
Armstrong, who is wanted out of South Carolina on forgery charges, was arrested Wednesday at the Days Inn motel at 3506 First St. W., Bradenton. During a search of his room, detectives recovered "a substantial amount of stolen property" from the two burglaries, as well as other property believe to be stolen, according to the sheriff's office.
Also arrested was Armstrong's girlfriend, Allison Epps, who is wanted out of South Carolina for forgery.
Armstrong faces charges of burglary, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a felon, grand theft of a firearm and theft. He was being held at Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $42,500, according to the sheriff’s website.
Epps, 31, was being held without bond on the South Carolina warrant.
