MANATEE — More than $40,000 in jewelry was reported stolen during a burglary at a Bradenton residence, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The intruder or intruders got into the house, in the 2800 block of 22nd Street West, by prying open a rear door, according to a news release.
Before leaving, they ransacked the house, tore apart the air conditioner and cut all the wires on the rear of the house. The damage was estimated at about $4,200, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspect or suspects got away with several items, including two televisions and a safe, which held assorted jewelry and about $200 in cash.
The burglary was reported at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday.
