Man arrested in Bradenton after foot pursuit

MANATEE -- A 47-year-old man who tried to break into a Bayshore Garden residence was arrested after he lead deputies on a foot pursuit late, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

John Q. Findley, who is believed to be homeless, was seen about 3 p.m. Thursday checking vehicle doors and then attempted to enter a home in the 3100 block of Vivienda Boulevard.

Deputies checking the area found Findley, who lead them on a foot chase. A deputy tried to shoot hime with a Taser but missed. Eventually, Findley was arrested in the 3400 block of Bayshore Gardens Parkway.

Tucked into his waistband was a 10-inch fixed bladed knife.

Findley was taken to the Manatee County jail, where he was being held without bond on charges of armed burglary and resisting arrest. He also is wanted in Ohio on a charge of grand theft of a firearm, according to the sheriff's office.
