Wreck drops telephone line across U.S. 41 in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A traffic accident Sunday morning knocked a telephone line down across U.S. 41 in Bradenton, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened about 8:15 a.m. when the driver of a vehicle heading south on U.S. 41 collided with a northbound vehicle while trying to turn left at 63rd Avenue West. The northbound vehicle crossed the intersection in a northeasterly direction, went off the north shoulder of 63rd Avenue West and struck and broke a utility pole, according to a report.

The cable TV wire fell across 63rd Avenue West and a telephone line fell across U.S. 41.

Neither driver was injured, and traffic was able to pass through the intersection while authorities investigated the accident and waited for repair crews.
