MANATEE -- A 32-year-old man late Monday was charged with resisting arrest and other violations after a sheriff's deputy had to use a Taser to take him into custody and then he kicked out a window in a patrol car, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Brian R. Bingham, of Ellenton, was arrested after deputies at about 10:45 p.m. responded a report of a disturbance near his home in the 3400 block of 39th Street East.
Bingham was hit with the Taser when he tried to run from deputies, and "while handcuffed he was placed in the back of a patrol car.
"The suspect then lay back on the seat and kicked out the rear driver's side window," causing $500 in damage.
Bingham was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail, on charges of domestic violence, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
