MANATEE -- A convicted sex offender wanted since last month for failing to properly register with authorities was arrested this week, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Daniel Dainton, 46, was arrested Tuesday after he went to the sheriff's office to update his address.
He was arrested and taken to the Manatee County jail, where he was being held on $10,000 on a charge of failing to properly register as sex offender.
Dainton was one of six "absconded" sex offenders in Manatee County being sought by authorities, according to a news release the sheriff's office issued on Monday.
Dainton was convicted in Hillsborough County in 2003 for sexual battery and lewd and lascivious on a child.
