Woman charged with attempted break-in at Bradenton mobile home park

MANATEE — A 39-year-old woman was arrested late Monday after she and a man tried to break into a Bradenton mobile home, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Residents of the Wayside Glen Mobile Home Park, 5100 14th St. W., detained Angela Webster about 9:50 p.m. after they heard noise as she and a man tried to force their way into a trailer. When they were confronted by a neighbor, the male suspect hit him in the head with "hatchet-type" tool or weapon, causing a minor scratch, and fled the scene, according to a news release.

The resident of the damaged mobile home said Webster and the man are friends of his and that he wished to press charges, according to the report.

Webster, who was listed as homeless, was found to be carrying a knife. She was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail on charges of armed burglary, assault and battery, criminal mischief and carrying a concealed weapon.

Deputies were searching for the male suspect.
