Bradenton man’s wallet stolen in attack

MANATEE -- A 63-year-old Bradenton man was robbed and assaulted as he was standing in front of his house just getting some air.

The victim, who lives in the 3300 block of 31st Street West, was watching a suspect walking around some a neighbor’s property early Saturday.

The suspect noticed he was being watched and walked toward the victim, asking for a cigarette.

Within the next few moments, the suspect attempted to either stab or punch the victim, according to the report.

The suspect then walked behind the victim and used an unknown object to scratch his neck, the report adds.

The victim also told deputies that the suspect stole his wallet, which contained $20 to $30, the report states.

The victim also said the suspect stole two Methadone pills that were in his front pocket.
