PALMETTO — Two days after a Palmetto woman had her tricycle stolen from her home, she went on the Craigslist website to find a replacement.
And her to surprise she came across an ad attempting to sell her property, according to the Palmetto Police Department. The victim had painted the bike in certain areas and when she saw it on the website, she recognized it as hers.
The victim called law enforcement. Police, using the ad, charged 26-year-old Troy Woodall with the burglary, according to an arrest report.
On Nov. 18, an officer went to the home and requested to speak to Woodall. The officer was able to read the serial number on the tricycle ad confirm it belonged to the victim. The tricycle was then returned.
Woodall resisted arrest by locking himself in the restroom. Officers kicked open the door and Tasered Woodall to bring him into custody, according to the police report.
Woodall was charged with burglary, dealing in stolen property and resisting arrest without violence. He was in Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $10,750.
