Manatee sheriff: In search of beer, man pushes store manager, flashes his rear end

MANATEE -- James Stevens, Jr. told Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies he pushed past a manager who told him a Walgreen’s store was closed simply because he wanted some more beer.

Stevens, 48, who is homeless, said he had already consumed six to eight beers when he went to Walgreen’s, 1504 State Road 70 East, and store manager put her hand up to stop him, according to the sheriff’s office.

Stevens allegedly pushed the woman to get to the cooler to get some beer and went to the register.

When he was asked to leave repeatedly, he went to the door and flashed his buttocks at management before walking outside, according to the sheriff’s office.

Stevens remains in jail on a charge of battery, with bond set at $750.
