BRADENTON — A man and a woman survived a bombardment of concrete blocks at 7 a.m. Sunday.
The victims were in an apartment on the 1400 block of 12th Avenue West when Charles Maddox, Jr., 44, began throwing concrete blocks through the windows of the apartment, eventually striking the woman in the foot and leg and damaging the contents of the apartment and the plumbing, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.
The woman told an officer that she and Maddox had dated over a year and were currently living together.
Maddox was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Maddox also bit the hand of an emergency worker attempting to help him breath after he was arrested, the report adds.
