2 arrested after Parrish residents report break-in tries

MANATEE -- Two people were arrested early this morning after witnesses reported seeing them trying to open three vehicles parked in a Parrish neighborhood, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the 12500 block of 23rd Street East, in the River Plantation neighborhood, about 2:05 a.m. A K-9 dog tracked and located Veronica Iossifova, 21, hiding behind a residence. The second suspect, Juan Luis Garcia, 19, was tracked to his residence, according to the sheriff's office.

Iossifova was arrested on charges of loitering and prowling, and Garcia faces three counts of attempted burglary of a vehicle and a count of violating his probation for carrying a concealed firearm.

Garcia was being held on $20,000 bond and Iossifova was being held on $120 bond.
