MANATEE — A substitute teacher was arrested Thursday on a possession of a controlled substance charge, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Heather Bergeron, 27, of Bradenton, was being arrested for a traffic-related violation when a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy found a prescription pill, two syringes and a metal spoon with a white burnt substance in her purse, according to a sheriff’s report.
The report states Bergeron is employed by the Manatee County School Board.
She was released from jail Sunday after posting $2,120 bond on the drug and traffic charges.
