Investigators were looking for clues into who shot a man in the leg as he was exiting his car Wednesday evening, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting occurred at 9:29 p.m. when a man was arriving home in the 5500 block of 21st Street Court East.
He was exiting his car after going to the store when two men from a brown car parked in front of his residence approached him.
The men were in their late teens and one pointed a handgun at him, firing once, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The man was struck on the inner part of his thigh and received non-life-threatening injuries.
He threw a six-pack of beer at the assailants before running inside, the release said. The men got back inside the car and fled north.
