LAKEWOOD RANCH — A woman was punched in the face with brass knuckles after she and another woman got into a fight over a boyfriend.

Alicia Delarosa, 18, of 2107 Zipperer Road, Myakka City, was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in the incident, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

The two woman got into an argument at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday over the boyfriend at a party in the 1700 block of Clubhouse Drive in Lakewood Ranch.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived because of a loud noise complaint, they dispersed the crowd, which moved the party to the 6000 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, where the two woman continued to argue.

Delarosa started punching the other woman in the face and head with brass knuckles, knocking her to the ground, where Delarosa continued to punch the victim, the report said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries.

Delarosa told the investigators the other woman hit her first and she was just defending herself.

She carries brass knuckles, Delarosa said, for protection because all kinds of men try to pick her up at her job at a local restaurant.

Delarosa was later released from the Manatee County jail without having to post bond.
