MANATEE - A 61-year-old man told deputies he was robbed by an ex-jail cell mate he had been drinking with, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The victim said the suspect awakened him about 3:42 a.m. this morning by putting his forearm across his throat, pointing what looked like a gun to his eye and demanding money, according to a news release.
The suspect then fled with the victim's wallet, which held about $280.
The robbery happened in a trailer in the 2800 block of 17th Street West. The suspect was last seen fleeing towards 14th Street West, according to the sheriff's office.
