Manatee woman charged with stabbing boyfriend

MANATEE — A woman apparently upset at her boyfriend because he left her at a friend's house without a ride home later stabbed the man during a struggle early this morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

When she did get home, Ann-Marie F. King, 30, and the man got into an argument and she pushed over the man's two motorcycles, injuring her leg in the process, according to a news release.

The man then went to sleep.

About 1:10 a.m., King approached the man as he was sleeping and grabbed a pocketknife and started swinging it. During a struggle for the knife, the man was stabbed in a hand, the sheriff's office said.

The incident happened in an apartment in the 1200 block of Whitfield Avenue.

King faces a charge of aggravated domestic battery.
