Bradenton church burglarized, ransacked

MANATEE — A Bradenton church was burglarized and ransacked early Saturday morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The break-in at Christ Community Church, 1803 57th Ave. W., was discovered at about 6:37 a.m. when three women arrived for early prayer. A side door had been pried open, two offices had been ransacked and there was damage to cabinet, desks and doors caused by someone trying to open them, according to a news release.

The congregants told investigators they had noticed a man and a woman loitering in the parking lot near a silver, four-door vehicle — possibly a Nissan — and they left when the church members arrived.
