Burglars cut hole in wall to rob Manatee jewelry store

MANATEE -- Someone burglarized a local clock and jewelry store by first breaking into a neighboring vacant storefront and cutting a hole in a wall, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The burglar or burglars then entered The Watchman, 5765 Manatee Ave. W., removed the door to a safe and took several watches. They also took jewelry from display cases and clocks that had been hanging on the walls, according to a news release.

The suspects then left the store back through the hole they had cut, the sheriff's office said.

The break-in took place some time between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 8:25 a.m. this morning, according to the release.
