MANATEE - Two men were arrested early this morning after residents witnessed them breaking into vehicles in an East Manatee neighborhood, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Ethan A. Viera, 18, and John-Michael Heinen, 20, were seen breaking into vehicles 4200 block of 70th Drive East, in the Sara Palms neighborhood, and trying to break into others, according to a oreport.
Someone called the sheriff's office about 3:21 a.m., and deputies swarmed the area. Using a police dog, deputies were able to locate Viera and Heinen under some bushes.
They admitted that they had stolen a pair of sunglasses from one vehicle and trying to break into others. A search of their vehicle revealed several electronic items, which were seized by deputies pending further investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
Viera and Heinen were being held on burglary charges at the Manatee County jail.
