Manatee couple arrested after woman reports attack

MANATEE - A man and woman were arrested after they went to another woman's work place this morning and robbed and beat her, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The suspects, Megan L. Sessions, 24, and Michael J. Daily, 27, went to the victim's place of employment, in the 2400 block of First Street East, and knocked on the door about 4:35 a.m., according to a news release.

When the victim answered and went outside, Daily pulled her off the porch, and Sessions began to beat her with her hands and feet, knocking her to the ground. Daily also kicked her in the chest, the sheriff's office said.

During the struggle, the victim had her cell phone taken away and began to scream.

"Daily then put something cold" to the victim's head and demanded she be quiet or he would kill her, leading the victim to fear he had a gun or other weapon, the news release stated.

Sessions and Daily then fled.

The victim was able to give deputies information about the couple's residence, an apartment in the 5200 block of 15th Street East, where they were arrested without incident, according to the sheriff's office.

Sessions was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail on a charge of armed robbery. Information about Daily had not yet been posted on the jail's Web site.
