Hit-and-run at Palma Sola park leaves pedestrian seriously injured, Bradenton police say
Bradenton Police Department is asking drivers to avoid the Palma Sola Causeway after a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. in the 8400 block of Manatee Ave. near Palma Sola Causeway Park, between downtown Bradenton and Anna Maria Island.
A male driver hit a pedestrian and ran away on foot, police said in a press release.
The pedestrian has serious injuries and is receiving medical treatment.
The causeway is open, but police are asking drivers to avoid the area. Traffic homicide investigations may need to briefly close the causeway in order to document the scene.
It is an active investigation in its early stages and no other information is yet available.
