Woman rescued from fumigated building in Bradenton

A woman was rescued by the Bradenton Fire Department from a building being fumigated in the 1400 block of 15th Street West at 6:47 a.m. Tuesday, according to a release.

The fire department responded to a call requesting extrication from a structure being fumigated. Four minutes later, first responders found the woman in a crawl space under the structure.

According to the report, the woman was combative and moved away from rescuers. BFD battalion chief David Foxall ordered the fumigation tent be removed and chemicals dissipated for ventilation.

After the rescue, the woman was turned over to Manatee County EMS for evaluation and treatment, according to the release.

Why she was in the building is undetermined, said fire department program administrator Rebecca Desch.
