Locals going to conference in Louisville
BRADENTON -- Bradenton will send 10 senior high youth plus adult youth leaders to Louisville, Ky., July 5-12 for the quadrennial Nazarene Youth Conference, including three of four members of a musical group who are graduates of Manatee High School, according to Ben Wallace, youth pastor of Bradenton First Church of the Nazarene.
Mallory Guthrie Darcy and her younger twin brothers, Parker and Jordan, adult children of Brad and Melissa Guthrie, pastors at West Bradenton Baptist Church, are members of Harbour, a musical group from Nashville, Tenn.
Roughly 7,000 youths from the United States and Canada are expected to attend to perform community work projects, participate in small group meetings and Bible studies, enjoy Christian concerts and speakers.
Each person age 14-18 had to raise $1,250 to attend.
Jake Beard, Lauren Carico, Quentin and Ian Ferring, Kaitlyn Kreitz, Molly Minikus, Shannon Purcell, David Cedano and Tristan and Cody Yoho are also going.
