MANATEE -- Skies should be mostly sunny on Thursday in Bradenton, but there is a chance of afternoon showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are calling for mostly sunny skies and a high near 78, with west-southwesterly winds of 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. There is a 30 percent of showers, mainly after 2 p.m.

Thursday night, skies will be partly cloudy, with a low around 62 and west-northwesterly winds of 5 to 8 mph. There is a 30 percent chance of rain before 8 p.m., according to the Weather Service.
