MANATEE — Manatee County permitting fees will be dropping 6 percent across the board, beginning Monday, officials said.
“With building activity up, and internal efficiences on the rise, the cost of doing business with Manatee County is about to go down,” said Nick Azzara, Manatee County information outreach coordinator.
County commissioners this week unanimously approved a drop in permitting fees, he said.
The lower fees were originally part of County Administrator Ed Hunzeker’s proposed budget in May, Azzara said.
They result from increased efficiences in the Building and Development Services Department, along with a rebounding construction industry throughout Manatee, he said.
