New tropical depression forms in Atlantic; forecast to not approach Florida

A new tropical depression, but its forecast track has it never coming close to Florida.

As of 5 p.m. EDT, the system was located about 1,350 miles west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands. With winds of 35 mph, it was heading northwest at 3 mph.

The 5-day forecast cone has it eventually turning to the north.

By Tuesday, the system could become a tropical storm, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Leslie continues to move very slowly to north.

With winds of 60 mph, Leslie was located aout 485 miles north of the Leeward Islands, or about 585 miles south of Bermuda, moving to the northwest at 3 mph -- away from Florida.
