Friends of Central Library to open book store at Bradenton library

Friends of the Central Library on Saturday will celebrate the grand opening of its new book store.

Staffed by member of the Friends of the Central Library, the “Second Edition” Book Store is located on the ground floor of the Manatee County Central Library and features tbargains on thousands of books. The store will be open throughout the year, although a firm schedule has not yet been created.

The store's opening means the Friends of the Central Library will no longer hold its semi-annual book sales as it has in the past.

For the grand opening, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be activities, entertainment, and refreshments, including a musical performance in the library’s Auditorium at noon by students from the Manatee School for the Arts. Starting at 12:30 there will be tours of the library every half hour.

The Central Library is located at 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W. in downtown Bradenton.
