Scattered storms continue moving through the Tamp Bay area on Thursday, with showers drifting onshore from the Gulf of Mexico.
Early-morning showers moved in from the Gulf in a north-northeast motion onto Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties, according to Bay News 9 Meteorologist Juli Marquez. As the day has progressed, more showers moved across the entire Bay area.
Rain chances Thursday and Friday are 40 percent.
"It will be partly cloudy today with scattered showers,'' Marquez said. "And those rain chances will linger into tonight and Friday.''
Today's weather comes ahead of a developing area of low pressure that will bring even higher rain chances and the possibility of strong thunderstorms in the Bay area this weekend.
