Florida Gov. Rick Scott vetoes $750,000 for Manatee Glens

MANATEE - Gov. Rick Scott signed the state budget Tuesday and vetoed nearly $143 million in funds for statewide projects including $750,000 for a county crisis stabilization unit at Manatee Glens.

Manatee Glens, the only facility in Manatee County to serve children and teens under 18 whose emotional problems pose a danger to themselves or others, was hoping for the allocation. The agency received a $141,000 cut in funding for recurring Children’s Baker Act services.
