Fifth annual Beer & Food Truck Festival: Old Main Street, Bradenton
Bradenton’s Old Main Street will be filled with tasty brews and the Tampa Bay area’s best food trucks 4-8 p.m. today for the fifth annual Beer & Food Truck Festival. Get a sampling of local food and brews along with live music during the event. Breweries include Little Giant Brewery, Southern Tier, Highlands, Swamphead, Magic Hat, Saint Somewhere and more. More than a dozen food trucks will be serving up until midnight at the event. The tasty trucks specialize in everything from mac ’n’ cheese (O’Mac Daddies) to inventive gourmet burgers (Full Belly Burgers) to Asian fusion (Two Asians and a Grill). Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival: 4415 119th St. W., Village of Cortez
This weekend 20,000-25,000 people are expected at Cortez’s signature event. Festivalgoers will be treated to plenty of seafood plus other dishes, a variety of live music (see sidebar), clog dancing, boat rides and marine life exhibits. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday. Admission: $3; children younger than 12 are free. Offsite parking available at G.T.
