Manatee residents got out around the county Saturday to bring awareness to several causes -- Down syndrome, autism and breast cancer.
Approximately 1,200 people signed up for the 10th annual Buddy Walk to benefit Manasota BUDS at the Hunsader Farm Pumpkin Festival. Manasota BUDS is committed to serving people with Down syndrome and their families in the community.
Browns Grove Farm Market in Parrish hosted a free October Festival for children with autism. Face Autism Inc. was there to let people know it hosts support groups, free movies and roller skating, and offers a social skills class.
Lastly, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K was held at Sarasota Polo Club to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
